Chen's breakthrough came in 2000 with the release of his album "Start Here," which included the hit single "Folding Star." The album's success led to him winning several awards, including the Best New Artist award at the 2000 Hong Kong Music Awards.
Chen is committed to giving back to the community. He has supported various charitable organizations, including the Hong Kong Red Cross and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. In 2010, he participated in a charity football match to raise funds for the victims of the Haiti earthquake.
Chen's family moved to Vancouver, Canada, when he was a child. He began his music career at a young age, performing in various singing competitions and events. In 1997, he returned to Hong Kong to pursue a full-time music career. He signed with Sony Music and released his debut album, which gained moderate success.
